Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Shane Tennant ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Special Days and Celebrations apps ("the Apps").

The short version: your family data stays entirely on your device. We do not collect it, store it on servers, or share it with anyone.

Data we do not collect

The Apps do not collect or transmit any of the following:

  • Names, birthdates, or personal details you enter about family members
  • Photos stored in the Apps
  • Family tree or genealogy information
  • Memorial tribute content
  • Notes or event details
  • Location data
  • Contact list data
  • Usage analytics or behaviour tracking

All data you enter into the Apps is stored locally on your device using the device's built-in secure storage. It is not accessible to us.

Payment processing

Special Days (Mac and Windows) is sold through Polar, who acts as the Merchant of Record for all purchases.

When you make a purchase, payment is handled entirely by Polar. We do not see or store your card or bank details. Polar's privacy policy applies to their handling of your payment data:

Celebrations (iPhone and iPad) is sold through the Apple App Store. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.

License key records

When you purchase Special Days, we store a license key record containing: your email address, the product purchased, and the license key issued. This is retained so we can assist you if you lose your key. We do not use this information for marketing.

Notifications

The Apps use local notifications (scheduled on your device) for birthday and anniversary reminders. No notification data is sent to any server.

Children's privacy

The Apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child's information has been inadvertently submitted, contact us and we will address it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Apps after changes constitutes acceptance.
